Set the tree upright and check its position. Share stairs, access limits and your chosen spot in advance.
Add water
Fill the stand so the cut end stays submerged. Keep checking the water every day, especially at first.
Remove netting
Once the tree is secure, remove its netting and let the branches settle before you decorate.
